Faculty engage in short-term Innovation Communities to advance institutional core themes through innovative curriculum or pedagogy. Antiracist and Decolonizing Pedagogy

Faculty advanced our campus awareness and understanding of Ethnic and Racial Studies through guest expert speakers, pedagogical collaboration, and curriculum revision and development.


Collaborative Online Groupwork for Adult Learners

Faculty investigated further the experiences and needs of our online adult learners and faculty regarding online group work including rationale, andragogies, and assessment practices.


Community-Based Service Learning

The group formed to discover, explore, compile and create ideas, guidelines, resources, etc. that could guide faculty interested in implementing CBSL.


Culturally Responsive Teaching

A group of faculty explored existing research in CRT, examined their own curriculum and instructional practices, and developed and experimented with new CRT-informed practices.


Hyflex Models

Faculty explored and implemented various hyflex instructional models, allowing learners to choose between face-to-face, synchronous remote, and asynchronous online class sessions in order to increase access and equity among our diverse student body.


Interdisciplinary Writing Certificate Transforms General Education

This project addressed the challenge of making General Education more relevant through an Interdisciplinary Writing Certificate.


Real World Assessment

The Honors College developed a comprehensive assessment strategy that incorporates the existing curriculum, co-curricular activities, a new capstone portfolio requirement, online and hybrid teaching, and ongoing diversification efforts.


Sustainability Across the Curriculum

Participants committed to substantially changing their course’s curriculum and/or pedagogy to incorporate a commitment to sustainability in environmental, financial or social aspects.


Sustainable Compassion for Educators

Faculty convened to study the theory and practice of Sustainable Compassion Training (SCT), a system of compassion- and mindfulness-based research-informed meditation practices adapted from Tibetan Buddhism.


Universal Design for Learning

Faculty explored UDL practices such as high flexibility or blended practices for in-person and remote learning, revision of in-person attendance policies, and experimentation with the accessibility of hyflex technological tools.
